seriously is there some secret internet black market speakeasy where GTVs go for less than 20k because I've never seen one.

There is one in San Diego for less than $15k I have my eye on. Not as nice as this one but it is a driver.

When I was in San Francisco last summer, I saw several of these running around. before that it was like spotting a unicorn. I'd never seen more than one or two in the wild.

I agree, it's been worked over pretty thoroughly. For $20k I would hope the interior would be a little nicer, but it's hard to find fault, it's so nice overall.

There are way too many cars that I want..

Yeah the interior is a little rough. The good thing about classic cars though is that the seats are so much cheaper to restore than newer cars. Everything is so much simpler.

Yeah, and it's a very simple car to work on and parts are relatively inexpensive.
